South Coast Nannies was founded by a Nanny and includes many systems and procedures which are based on Formal Child Care Settings. Our Ratios, Forms, Risk Management Strategies are designed to be used as a tool to help create a safer environment for the Nannies, Families and Local Businesses.

We strive to match your qualifications and experience when connecting you with Families.

It is illegal for Nannies to be charged to join an Agency. It is FREE to apply for and work with our Agency.

What are the minimum requirements to become a Nanny with your agency?

Our selection criteria for becoming a Nanny with our Agency includes:

  • Two years prior experience working with children and/or one year solid experience may be accepted for Babysitting if you are working towards or completing Child Care or Early Childhood qualifications.
  • Child Care qualifications are highly desirable
  • Must be 18 years or older

Why do I need a First Aid Qualifications and Working with Children Check?

A valid Working with Children Check and current First Aid Qualification is a essential for the provision of high quality Child care Services within our Agency.

Do I need Insurance?

Yes – we strongly recommend that all our Nannies take out Public Liability Insurance as caring for young children is a high risk occupation – we recommend Nannysure. It only takes a split second for an accident to occur, and you could be held responsible. NannySure’s Liability policy is designed for our Industry and provides you with “peace of mind” should you be held responsible for personal injury or property damage during an assignment.

For Wedding and Event Services, you will be covered by our Agency.

How much and when do I get paid?

For Casual Babysitting Services, you will be paid $25 cash per hour by the Client at the end of the assignment.

For Wedding and Event Services you will be paid between $23 – $25 an hour depending on your nanny level and role. Team Leader rates are higher. You will be paid  directly by the Agency into your nominated Bank Account the following Thursday after the Event.

For Permanent Placements the Nannies rate will depend on the family’s budget and what the Nanny will accept for the job. The rate ranges from $22.85 to $30 an hour, depending on the Nanny’s experience,  expectations of the position and ages of the children.

Where are your jobs located?

Our jobs are located throughout the Shoalhaven, Illawarra, Southern Highlands, Eurobodalla and Sapphire Coast. Our Nanny Application Form will ask for the areas you wish to work in.

How many children would I be responsible for?

We have a 1:4 ratio and it is lower for babies and Group Bookings. Our Nannies are appropriately matched for the number of children and our ratios are a combination of legislative standards and our experience of providing high quality care where we value the importance of children’s safety, welfare, happiness and well being.

What would my responsibilities be?

Responsibilities vary widely from job to job, depending on the ages of the children, their specific needs and the particular requirements outlined by the Parents. As a Nanny you may be required to provide a meal or snack for the children, entertain and engage the children in activities and follow through with the family’s bedtime routines.

For each Assignment, you will have the parents contact details, outlined expectations and in-depth information regarding the needs and routines of the children in your care. The Assignment Information details will assist you with understanding your responsibilities so you are not left “guessing” on your own.

What should I do if a Family asks if I am available to Babysit/Nanny for them again?

You are never to agree to any private bookings that have been organised directly between yourself and the Client. If a Client would like for you to Babysit/Nanny for them again, please ask them to include your name in the booking section on their form when they make their booking, or email in their request. If a Client contacts you directly, please inform South Coast Nannies immediately. If you take Client bookings  privately, your position with our Agency will be terminated immediately and you will no longer have access to South Coast Nannies Group and Services.
